	Change Log Starting with Version 7.01       This section lists changes introduced in all released versions of the Geomet family of software products. Expand or Contract all listings choose: Contract All | Expand All       Geomet version 7.01.xxx (Scheduled released January 2012) New Productivity Additions   • Added support for Ovation Engineering Export File to support tool offset capabilities in cell operations.   • Replaced the basic Report Control tool with a new expanded tool providing access to several report controls via one displayed dialog.   • Added new support for a mutli-position stage table utilizing the Digital I/O feature.   • New feature added that copies the inspection report as a whole or as selected text and saves that information into the Windows Clipboard as basic text.   • Added a new feature that extracts the embedded stylus records within the inspection report and updates or adds them to the current stylus database.   • New Coordinate System naming utility added to the CAD CS tool.   • Added a new CAD Coordinate System tools in support of the new CAD release.   • Added EZ-Launch Rules and Timers.   •   Stability   • Added a option to automatically back-up the Geomet System Options. Saves into a file labeled as "AutoBackupGSO.ini" found in the Geomet Program folder.   • In the One-Step Motion Edit tool corrected a crash condition caused by a unreferenced message ID.   • Fixed the ReQualify feature record to carry the nominal value forward to a inspection run.   • Corrected a dialog crash condition caused by a reference to a message pointer. Affected all Feature Generators.   •   Visualization   • New toolbar control added that recalculates the position and "cleans-up" the display by dockinh them in the proper position.   • On features that create a new Part Coordinate System (PCS) a name override can be invoked to customer name coordinate systems.   • Added Coordinate System axis labels displayed along the CS Icon directions.   • Added new Opacity tool to control the Graphics display of a model.   • New rendering controls to control the visualization of a CAD model. These include better resolution and edge sewing.   • Overhauled the OpenGL graphics engine adding better lighting, color and model translucent controls.   • Changed the Graphics commend button bar from a Windows style button to a customer graphic drawn element. Added new functionality to the button bar including command history.   •   Productivity   • SPC ASCII export file naming can now be overridden within Geomet to custom name the file.   • New right-click controls added to the Motion Edit tool that allows direct operations on the list of motion records.   • Expanded Digital I/O to work with additional ports and assigned features.   • Added a new tag system that enables or suppresses the print feature. Controlled by the external Sequent menu system.   • Updated Motion Edit to enhance the ReCalc Stand-Off feature. The compensates motion map entries that are ball center or surface point.   • Added a filename override to use external supplied filename.   • Added localized K2142 labels in the Q-DAS data export. This allows individual feature UOM labels.   • Added Gage ID, Operator and Comments to the SPC ASCII export stream.   • Added a new interface to support the Sequent production menu system designed by GDT-Consultants.   • Updated "Save Version" to provide sequential "Save-As" file names by adding a Vxxx to the end of the file name.   •   Miscellaneous   • New time stamps added for the start and stop of an inspection run.   • Added the ability to write the SPC ASCII file is date descending order, not just appended.   • Added an option to use the inspection report header when EZ-Launch menus are in use.   • Added new export features to the ProLink SPC Data File.   • Corrected a error when printing a Offset value in the Diameter of a Cone feature. A Line-feed was not occurring causing over-printed text.   • Added a export function to the Graphics Control Setting. Added the ability to recall graphic settings.   • Corrected an error in the reporting of the theta angle reporting.   •         Geomet version 7.01.182 (released January 2011) New Productivity Additions   • Added Graphics Screen Shot tool. Prints a image of the CAD Graphics directly on reports.   • New! Advanced Feature Editor. A new interactive tool that displays editable information on any selected feature. The Advanced Editor allow editing of Tolerance data, SPC and Print Exception Tags, Feature Delete and reporting flags to display secondary results.   • Added Information Balloon to the CAD Graphics area. When selecting a feature, a small balloon is displayed with the feature number and short name. This tool is for selecting features only and will be expanded to full reporting mode in future releases.   • New Maximum Inscribed / Minimum Circumscribed Circle function added.   • New feature to allow "Version Saving". This feature increments a version number attached to the original file name. Especially useful when building long inspections to ensure backward retrieval of inspection files.   • New feature, Inverse Vector Point. The Inverse Vector Point Tool builds matching Vector Points based on the inverse of the IJK normal and targets the original position with a offset distance. Suited for measuring wall thickness between surfaces. Stability   • Updated Math Tool reporting that prevented errors induced into the reported results.   • Fixed a display bug in Extended Distances between two Circles. When two nodes were displayed in the same location, only the top node was able to be selected with a mouse-click..   • Fixed a bug in the switching of Stylus databases to ensure the current inspection also has its reference updated.   • Updated Plane Generator to properly retrieve all data from existing Plane features.   • Updated Circle Generator to properly retrieve all data from existing Circle features.   • Corrected a reported bug where the tolerance range was being reset to 1.0 on inspection runs.   • Corrected a bug that allowed a feature mismatch after a PCS established statement was reported. This bug allowed the loss of a feature that shared the same serial number in rare cases.   • Corrected a bug in the closing of the Report Header on CMMs with the RTP20 probe system installed. When closing the Report Header using the <Esc> key, the system behaved correctly. When closing with the "X" button in the upper-right, the stylus change record was not recorded.   • Expanded support for embedding a Image into the User Prompt and printing on the report. In some image formats, the image was not being extrapolated properly and was leaving a 'X' box or black box being displayed.   • Corrected a bug in the Report Order Tool that crashed the system when using the Move tools and attempting to move an item to the bottom.   • Overhauled the Stylus Re-Qualify tool fixing a condition where the user defined tolerance limits was being replaced with the limits set in the System Option. Visualization   • Added support for mouse-wheel zooming in the CAD Graphics display area.   • Updated the Feature Selection tool to interact with directly with the CAD Graphics and Report list.   • Enhanced the CAD Graphics to display user defined symbols for 1D, 2D and 3D points. This allows enhanced visual identification of a reported/displayed Point feature.   • Added animation to the PCS Setup Guide that is displayed in the lower-right corner of the Geomet frame. This animation provides easily recognizable state of the PCS build process.   • Enhanced the display of the current PCS Axis in the CAD Graphics to allow the standard outline and a solid XYZ Arrows. Productivity   • Expanded GM Serial Number and Text entry screen.   • Enhance the feature selection tool to allow delete or duplicate of random multiple selections. Previously these commands only supported one feature selection.   • Expanded support of Cone Analysis tools; Report Offset, Report Diameter and Drop Ball Test. These tools now utilize the random selection capabilities allowing these features to be added at any location after the Cone feature.   • Added Drag-n-Drop capability to the Report Order Tool. This new capability allows dragging a feature from the feature display list to the report order list. Deletions from the report order list can be easily accomplished by dragging a feature from the tree outside the tree display area.   • Added new access buttons for Stylus Manager, Auto-Direction and Feature Select Tool directly on the Geomet Status Bar. This capability allows better visualization of current states and single-click access to these tools.   • Updated Report Control Center expanding the capabilities.   • Added a right-click tool to change the FCS assignment directly on a Recall FCS feature in the report list. This allows changing the "Assigned FCS Number".   • Added a Ball Bar Macro to all levels of Geomet. This tool is useful when running test on a CMM to determine the volumetric accuracies within a define cube. Miscellaneous   • Add support for increasing decimal precision depth by one place in the Gage R&R export of results.   • Added on-demand export of feature data points to a ASCII record in the Advanced Feature Edit tool.   • Expanded the Stylus size update tool when using a Ring Gage to include inside and outside Ring Gages and Pins and nominals using Radius or Diameter.   • Expanded the FCS Recall tool to display all current FCSs in  a selectable list.       Geomet version 7.01.122 (released July 2010) New Productivity Additions   • Completed the requirements for GM Powertrain/Q-DAS. Helmel is now the first CMM manufacturer to comply fully with the GM-GCR standard worldwide.   • New automatic backup routine to protect the System Options, active Stylus db, menu trees and FCS during long periods of work effort. By default, these files are backed up into a folder on a timed basis. The setup of this service can be found in System Options.   • New database tools for performing maintenance. These tools are implemented for the handling of Fixture Coordinate Systems and includes Merging, Backup and Deletions. Stability   • Corrected the storing of data values for the RFS/MMC/LMC on Slot/Web features. The issue affected how the values were being displayed and printed.   • Corrected the Out-of-Tolerance feature tracker. Between loading of files, this tracker was not being cleared. Only affected printing in show OOT only.   • Corrected the use of negative values in the Point Offset tool. Expanded the tool to allow the user to select 1D or 3D Point solutions.   • Corrected a metric conversion problem in Stylus ReQualify.   • Corrected a condition where features that contained no motion path was causing a software crash when included in a block of features with the "Disabled Motion" flag set.   • Updated Feature Tagging to ensure check setting on attributes not available are cleared. For example the setting of the X-Axis check is cleared automatically where switching the feature to report in Polar mode.   • Updated the recall feature tool to properly carry forward any embedded attributes such as Q-DAS records from the parent feature into the newly created recalled feature.   • Corrected a software crash that occurs when cancelling a User Prompt during an inspection run. Visualization   • Updated Ball bar Macro to include real-time graphics.   • Updated the graphic extent calculation to include the radii from a Oval Slot feature. This allows proper fit to extents in the CAD view.   • Added a test on all features when the calculated solution exceeds a user defined limit that results in the drawing of that feature at a extreme distance from the expected inspection limits. This prevents drawing of features so small they do not appear in the CAD area. Productivity   • Added persistence to System Options. Returns to System Options in the previous filtering and search states.   • Expanded Report Offsets to include a inverse multiplier allowing reported values to have a sign change.   • Updated EZ Launch/Q-DAS menu to auto advance selections when only one option is available.   • Updated the Quick PCS tool to control the use through a selection in System Options.   • Updated the construction tool to include recalled and constructed features when no data points are embedded in the feature. Miscellaneous   • Expanded the graphics control key 'q' to work during an inspection run.   • Added the ability to open the System Options database for quick viewing in plain text. This is accomplished in File->Open and choose *.gso.   • Added a System Option entry to increase the precision depth of reported values into ProLink.       Geomet version 7.01.090 (released March 2010) New Productivity Additions   • Q-DAS Standard Production file support. Provides file export capability for Q-DAS formatted files to be read directly by Q-STAT and CMM Reported.   • Q-DAS menu driven sequence embedded into the EZ-Launch menu system.   • Image file support to include a logo into the header of Geomet inspection reports. The image support utilizes BMP, GIF and JPEG file formats.   • User prompts have been expanded to include printing of the embedded image onto Geomet inspection reports.   • New manual data entry tool that is used to include non-CMM derived results directly into the Geomet inspection report. The manual data can be toleranced and included in SPC data export. Stability   • Corrected a random crash condition with the display of the Circle/Line Intersect tool.   • Fixed the Digital Readout activation and update frequency in Geomet Junior.   • Full overhauls of the Renishaw RTP20 and all motorized probe heads handling process. Visualization   • Added size limits to “Zoom All” in the CAD graphics window.   • Added scalable normal whiskers to measure or constructed planes. On very small planes, the whisker will be limited in length.   • Improved visual appearance when displaying features in Solid mode with edges active. Productivity   • Expanded the Stylus db Manager tool to utilize the standard File→Open to open and set active existing stylus databases.   • Updated the program-editing tool to migrate new and edited features from the inspection file into the cached inspection file used for auto inspections. This eliminates the need to perform a Save-As to ensure all changes are used in a rerun condition.   • Added math calculations to reported polar distance solutions. This allows Min, Max, Spread and Average solutions to be reported.   • Added parallelism and perpendicularity to constructed lines. Miscellaneous   • Updated the archiving tool, Collect for Output to include external image files.   • Expanded the file handling tools in the G-Code Generator.   • Expanded System Options by included new entries for number of hits in Re-Qual and ProLink SPC export settings.
