Definition

The Intersection command does not require that the Plane and Sphere reside in the same PCS. The Intersection command uses either the last two measured or constructed features or two random highlighted features in the inspection report.

The intersection between a Plane and Sphere results in reporting a 3D Circle in the current PCS. In the figure below, we show the Sphere and Plane as displayed prior to performing the intersection.

Intersecting Plane/
Sphere.

Pressing the Intersect Command key <d>, Geomet will calculate the final solution and report that new feature as a 3D Circle.

Should the Plane and Sphere fail to intersect, Geomet will prompt you with a message.
