Disable Probe

This feature is designed to allow the user to disable the electronic touch probe input to prevent accidental probe trips with manual indexing probes.

The disable probe feature is (de) activated through the use of the <space bar> on the keyboard. An example of using this feature is where the operator has a manual-indexing probe such as the Renishaw MIP. When you release the locking mechanism, the probe sends multiple false triggers while the operator articulates the probe to the new position. Before the lock is released, the operator would press the <space bar> on the keyboard and the status display would update to show the probe is disabled. The operator can then adjust the probe and before beginning the inspection, presses the space bar again to re-activate the probe.

This feature works with manual and DCC coordinate measuring machines. Probe de-activation also takes place when User Prompts are being displayed or when Auto-Prompts is active in the probe options setup.
